How is it going? Where are you going? When are you going? There is alot going on. It is going according to God's plan and we are not going down!
We love to quote this scripture, "The mind of man plans his ways but the Lord directs his steps." Prov.16:9 Not only is it the truth but it is the best description of our "goings"! We make our general plans but we seek to be ready to allow the Master "Daytimer"(and Night-timer) to fill in the details.
We are still at the dock (the holidays notoriously slow things up), you know what they say about 3 steps forward and 2 steps back still makes progress! Frank has been patiently working with the electrician who has the mind of an engineer, very careful and thorough. He just installed the new breaker/instrument panels that he created. He comes to work with reels of red, green, white, yellow & black wire. He is sort of like a surgeon, knowing the routes of the veins and arteries, what connects to what. It was getting late one Thurs. and they were just about to finish up by connecting the green ground wire to the newly acquired marine inverter/charger. ZAP,CRACKLE, (common vernacular to electricians) the new inverter got fried. Never in his 50yrs of doing this kind of work has he ever experienced a green ground wire carrying 110 volts! Dave felt really bad, it wasn't his fault, who would have known? Those were not our plans, we do have to look at it positively though, we could have had an electrical fire or someone could have gotten electrocuted. We are waiting for Dave to get back from visiting his mom in Fla. This week we should be getting back to the problem and finishing the work.
Meanwhile we have all finally moved aboard the boat. We have discovered that we are really landlubbers, we brought too much stuff! Thankfully we have a trailer to transfer it into.
The weather has been unpredictable except it is winter even in the South and we can expect fronts, cold and rain. Many days we've had frost on the dock and ice on the boat. Typically one day it is sunny and the next is blowing a gale! This is all part of life's contrasts, Satan would like to play a big part in these contrasts but we love to defeat him at his little game, it is easy when we are in the Spirit because he is so predictable!
Join us in prayer about staying encouraged in spite of seeming setbacks. This is more difficult for the Captain as he sees and knows all the projects that need to be done. Pray for The Father to send help so Frank does not have to feel the burden of it all. Pray for Yahweh's mercy for Frank and a manifestation of healing in his body. Pray for peace along with the desire to have a "fighting spirit" and an increase in measure of faith for him.
Pray for Lesley as she sometimes feels like she is juggling alot of things right now. It is difficult to keep a balance of walking in faith and knowing just what protocols need to be implemented for Frank in his time of need. He is experiencing pain and fatigue in the evenings. She has to continue to lay it all down as she carries too much of the burden of Frank's healing.
Also , the Captain is concerned about the weather, We do have fewer "windows" of clear calm days. Pray that we will have faith and not murmur as the children of Israel, but to be content to move with the cloud & the fire, after all we are not facing Pharaoh's army behind and the Red Sea ahead! If Yahweh can make highways in the wilderness than He can make windows of opportunity for passage making.
Pray that if neccessary God would send a brother to help the Captain if he needs a hand, he is a little unsure as he has not "proven" this boat.
And finally pray for the Lord to orchestrate just the right folks to cross our paths, that we may be faithful to share the goodness of our God to meet the need in their lives.
We hope everyone had Holy and Worshipful holidays, yours in Messiah's Service
Frank & Lesley and Family
PS. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks so much for your update. We love to here about your journey. You are such an encouragement to our family. We are getting ready to step out into a "new boat" in our life (not literal like yours)...but Paul is coming home to work from home on his own...a first for us in 14 years of marriage. We look forward to hearing more updates and we'll continue to pray for Frank's healing and your whole family.
Love,
The Smith's
Loved your update- can really relate to all the waiting and change of plans thing- Andy's favorite verse has also been Prov. 16:9 during this past year. Let us know how your health is doing Frank.
love to you all,
Linda and Andy
You will be in our prayers, and you are all in our hearts!
Shalom, shalom!!!
Much love,
Hannah and the Dubis
HI! This is Sandy and I met you, Lesley, in the hotel in New Bern last week. We have been praying for your family since then. It is so fun to see how the Lord works and places people in our paths to surprise us. I really have enjoyed reading through your blog and am excited that we can pray specific needs for your family. I only regretted when we met that i did not pray with you there on the shore. We can also relate to the boat sage. We have on old 1977 camper boat that my husband Rick likes to take the boys out camping on the water in. Rick is pretty good with engines but has also learned a lot! Blessings to you and your wonderful family. The Lord is doing great things through your family.
In Christ,
Your new friend and prayer partner, Sandy Brown in Raleigh
